Celebrity Makeup Artists Say These Are the Best Eyeliners Under $10

Eyeliners are definitely not all created equal. Some slip, some slide and others flat out disappear by lunch, but these five liners all get a stamp of approval from celebrity makeup artists, and they also ring in at under $10.

Best for everyday looks: Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Liner ($5)
“This is my favorite drugstore liner because it’s creamy and blendable, which is often rare in a waterproof formula,” explains celebrity makeup artist Ashley Donovan. “The black shade is my obvious favorite, but I love using the nude pencil to brighten inside the waterline, too.”
Best for finally nailing a cat's-eye: L'Oréal Infallible Gel Lacquer Liner 24 Hour ($10)
Celebrity makeup artist Jamie Dorman (she's worked on the likes of Bella Hadid and Zoey Deutch) names this creamy, stay-put offering as her favorite drugstore liner. It even comes with a perfectly sized brush to help nail any and all liner looks with ease.
Best for a no-fuss application: NYX Retractable Eye Liner ($5)
Celebrity makeup artist Amber Amos says she loves these colorful liners because of their great pigment and staying power. "They stay pretty sharp in the tube and glide on like a dream."
Best for faking fuller lashes: Maybelline Precise Skinny Gel Pencil ($8)
"This is my favorite for amping up your lashline and giving your eyes extra definition," says celebrity makeup artist Aliana Lopez, adding that the skinny point is perfect for tightlining your upper waterline and smudging into your lashes. "It gives the illusion of a fuller lashline, which makes your lashes look a lot more full."
Best for staying put: Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner ($8)
"This super black waterproof liner is smudge proof and lasts for hours," explains Stoj, makeup artist for Streeters. "I love to draw my liner with a brown pencil first, then perfect the line with a wet Q-tip to make the line sharp. My last step is going over the brown liner with this waterproof one in shade Blackest Black."
