6 Gifts Beauty Editors Want for the Holidays

It’s probably not a big secret that our staff tests out A LOT of products. Eye masks worn during edit meetings, not-so-subtle hair-color experiments, lunch breaks devoted to discussing skin care sagas—we’ve seen (and shared) it all. So this holiday, when the pressing question of ‘What’s the one beauty gift you wish someone would give you this season?’ was posed, we had to ponder a bit. Alas, here’s our lineup of what we hope we’ll see all boxed up with a bow this holiday.

“This Kat Von D Everlasting Obsession Liquid Lipstick Collector's Edition ($240) collection, hands down. The long-lasting yet somehow moisturizing and creamy formula makes these lipsticks my go-to almost every morning, so having 15 best-sellers on my vanity sounds like a dream.”

“Ever since my brother gave me magnetic Parcheesi two years in a row, I am all about requesting gift cards when asked ‘What do you want?’ and I would be over the moon to receive any amount toward Glamsquad for an at-home blowout. It seems utterly indulgent to book one myself for no special reason; something about the gift cart component makes it more acceptable. And, for the big ‘wish-list’ item…in keeping with the theme, I would love a Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer ($400).”

“I’ve never met a Charlotte Tilbury product I didn’t immediately fall in love with, so this Charlotte Tilbury World of Legendary Parties 2016 Advent Calendar ($200) is like the gift that keeps on giving. Jam-packed with a mix of mini and full size versions of Charlotte’s must have products, including her infamous Magic Cream, Wonderglow primer and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick, there’s enough in here to quell my beauty hunger for weeks, if not months, into the New Year.”

“A new Mason Pearson brush. I got my first one about 10 years ago, and while it has held up pretty well, my daughter is always stealing it from me. If I were her, I would too.”

Serge Lutens Water Lip Color. At $65, this lip gloss is not in my price range (I’m trying to be a responsible adult here), but I can’t stop thinking about it. I’m completely obsessed with that stained berry lip look—it’s very effortless yet chic—and I’m certain that it will instantly elevate my beauty look. Plus I’ll wear this color every day. I’m usually pretty relaxed when it comes to my makeup routine, but a pretty lip is always a must.”

Urban Decay VICE Lipstick Stockpile ($325). This limited-edition set is the ultimate beauty fantasy come to life. With 30 shades in everything from a matte red and sparkly hot pink to a creamy nude and a rich burgundy, I would have a match for my entire wardrobe and the options would be endless.”
