We’ll admit it. One of the best perks of being a beauty editor is having access to the best beauty products in the biz. Want to see what we stockpile our beauty vanities with? Here’s an inside look.

“My apartment (the bathroom in particular) is so tiny that if I’m not organized, it starts to look like a crime scene. The only place for my beauty products to live is in my medicine cabinet (and sometimes my kitchen cupboards), so I have to be kind of particular about what makes it in there. I’m obsessed with taking a bath once a night, so I’m forever stocked in that department with Kneipp and Dr. Hauschka; I also use Revision’s Intellishade and Ambre Blends perfume oil religiously, so those two products are always front and center. Three new items that just made their way into rotation: Intelligent Nutrients new See Spirit EssenceTata Harper Booster Contouring Serum and Hope Gillerman’s MuscleRemedy (all three are amazingly scented and all-natural to boot).”

“My vanity is an ever-changing rotation of products that I’m trying and love. I put them front and center so that they’re always within easy reach because I use every product in here at least once a week. I’m super into cleansing waters and toners at the moment—it just feels so satisfying (and soothing) to soak a cotton pad with it (my favorite: La Prairie Cellular Cleansing Water) and feel the day come off in one swipe. I also always rotate through a collection of classic skin care products—at least one SkinCeuticals product (CE Ferulic or Phloretin CF) is always on my face. At the moment, I’m living for this new product line out of Australia called Lano. They make the thickest, most hydrating hand creams, balms and lip products. They’re super heavy out of the tube, but they just melt into my skin on contact. I have them to thank for surviving this winter.

“I like to reserve my vanity for skin care products and makeup that I reach for each morning. I have oily skin and large pores, so I use essences and oils in my routine instead of heavy moisturizers that will make my skin worse. Belif Hydra Sebum Control Essence is great for minimizing oil production (I’m on my third bottle) and I love the smell, so it’s a win-win. My skin also tends to get red around my mouth, nose and eyebrows, so I always have a color corrector on hand. Lately, I’ve been using Algenist’s Concentrated Color Correcting Drops (I mix them with my moisturizer) to keep the redness down. As for cleansers, I alternate between Rodial Bee Venom Cleansing Balm and bareMinerals Total Cleansing Oil—they both make washing my face so luxurious!”

“My ultimate bathroom dream would be to have a glam room like one of the Kardashian sisters; in the meantime, I’m making pretty good use of the space I have. Luckily (and for only a little time more), I have sole use of my bathroom, which allows me to stockpile tons of creams, serums, makeup, perfume and hair products. I keep a drawer filled with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray, Klorane Dry Shampoo and my new favorite, Shu Uemura’s Texture Wave Dry Finishing Spray. Another drawer houses all my skin care products with everything from masks and at-home peels to sunscreen and beyond—I’m forever searching for the best anti-acne and anti-redness products, and at the moment, I’m really into PCA Anti-Redness Serum and Galderma’s Benzac. On top of my vanity is a collection of Bond perfumes, as well as my go-to classic, Fracas, which I’ve worn since college. For makeup, I’m all about Urban Decay palettes, pretty much anything from Make Up For Ever and MAC, and brushes galore. I keep my vanity super organized, and despite the overwhelming amount of products stashed in it, I know where everything is at all times.”

“My bathroom cabinet is packed to the brim with everyday essentials—a mix of skin, body and hair products—to tackle everything from dry skin to fine lines (there’s also always nail polish remover close by because I constantly change up my color). I usually have three different eye creams, one for a.m., one for p.m. and one for weekend days when I don’t plan to layer any makeup on top. Right now I’m using Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado, philosophy renewed hope in a jar eye and Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel. It seems a little crazy, but as a beauty editor, you end up falling in love with so many products and you’ve gotta find a way to work them in! Other favorites currently in the mix are Key West Aloe Day Moist, It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin and everything Juara.”

“I use a bookcase and large floor mirror as my vanity because I like standing really close to the mirror when I put my makeup on. I keep my daily favorites front and center, like my Ponds Dry Skin Cream, Patchology FlashPatch Eye Gels and Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Foundation. I collect MAC lipsticks like people collect coins or stamps, so I like to see them out in the open. Makeup palettes are must-haves, and right now I’m alternating between the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani and Anastasia Beverly Hills Self Made eye shadow palettes. I keep my brushes, products and palettes in acrylic organizers so they’re all in one place and I store the products that I don’t use as often in large boxes below. Every so often I’ll go through my boxes to bring something stored away back into rotation. I also keep a handful of my favorite records handy so I can have a little pre-party while I’m getting ready for a big night out.”
