Up for 2016: A whole new wave of food and beverage trends that everyone in the wellness world will be watching. Here are seven ones to know about now, according to integrative health expert and author of What Doctors Eat and 21 Day Belly Fix Dr. Taz Bhatia.

Thanks to a special filtration process, Dr. Bhatia says these new “super” milks offer up 50 percent more natural protein and calcium than regular milk and 30 percent less sugar.
Cheeses flavored with lavender? Sounds like a culinary coup, but Dr. Bhatia says that adding this particular plant actually has been shown to help with digestion.
You probably already know the bulk of cinnamon’s benefits (including helping to control insulin levels, decrease blood sugar and suppress the appetite), and this year looks like it will bring about even more ready-to-drink options for the superstar spice.
This highly nutritious dairy product originated in Europe and contains double the protein of Greek yogurt. According to Dr. Bhatia, it’s also a great source of vitamin K2, which helps maintain bone strength and protect arteries from blockages.
