Matin Maulawizada, global artistry director for Laura Mercier, created this look for “Homeland” star, Claire Danes

Eyes: “I decided to go with a smoky eye and not a red lip since the dress was so red,” stated Maulawizada. This was accomplished by applying Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Liner in Black on Danes’ top lids and under her eyes “to create depth and shape.” Next he applied Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony with Laura Mercier Flat Eye Liner Brush to “deepen the lash line.” He then rimmed the inside of the eyes using Laura Mercier Kohl Eye Pencil in Black Gold to “intensify the depth and to create a contrast with Claire’s blue eyes.” Maulawizada added the final touch of glamour by applying multiple coats of Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara to Claire’s upper lashes.

Lips: Maulawizada used neutral colours to “contour the lips” and make them appear “pouty, à la an early ‘90s supermodel pout.” He first defined the lips using Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Hazelnut. Then he contoured and shaded in the lips with Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Praline. Lastly he applied Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Angelic to make the color a “bit more beige and quiet.”

Face: Maulawizada determined that “glowy, warm skin” would be the perfect canvas for Danes’ sultry makeup look. First, he applied Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Crème Compact SPF 20 in Almond to warm up Claire’s skin tone. Next he sparingly used Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage #3 to “cover up little imperfections and darkness under the eyes, which she really doesn’t have.” On her cheeks, Maulawizada applied Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Blaze followed by Laura Mercier Bonne Mine Palette to “highlight, bronze and make her even more glowy.” Lastly he used a combination of Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent and Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder to set Claire’s makeup and concealer.

To ensure Danes glowed from head to toe, Maulawizada applied Laura Mercier Mineral Illuminating Powder in Candlelight over Laura Mercier Repair Eye Serum on Claire’s shoulders and arms.

In a gilded dress by Michael Kors, Emily Blunt dazzled at the Golden Globes. Emily “definitely had something in mind as far as the look,” says makeup artist Jenn Streicher. “Emily wanted smoky eyes paired with soft pink lips that echoed her Lorraine Schwartz ruby earrings.”

Skin: Streicher began by using Kate Somerville Quench Hydrating Face Serum, La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream and La Mer Eye Concentrate. She then primed the skin with Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, and followed with Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer in Ivory. She used two shades of Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer: Fair, a light shade, was used around the nose and as a highlighter, and Sand, a slightly darker shade, was applied under the eyes. Streicher completed the skin by applying the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light all over the complexion. Available in six different lighting settings, Ambient delivers a multi-dimensional luminescence to the complexion by capturing, diffusing and softening surrounding light. “It softens and enhances everything,” says Streicher.

Cheeks: Streicher applied Hourglass Superficial Waterproof Bronzer all over the face and neck to create a radiant glow. She then used the bronzer shade from Hourglass Illume Crème-to-Powder Bronzer Duo in Sunset to contour the cheeks and jaw line. The blush shade from Illume was applied onto the cheekbones.

Eyes: She started by lining eyes with Hourglass Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Espresso and softened the line with a brush. Jenn then applied the shell shimmer shade from Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Gypsy as a highlight on the brow bone and followed with a matte brown eye shadow on the lid. Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara was applied to the lashes to volumize, lengthen and separate them. She then amplified the brows with Hourglass Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil in Soft Brunette.

Lips: Lips were infused with a beautiful wash of color courtesy of Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Edition, a soft pink shimmer.

On Sunday’s red carpet Jessica Alba looked stunning in a peach-colored gown by Oscar de la Renta. “The dress was the inspiration,” says makeup artist Lauren Andersen. “I loved the contrast between her glowing skin and the matte orange lip. It’s an almost tropical pop of color that’s not an exact match for the dress but close.”

Skin: Andersen prepped the skin with Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, and followed with Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer in Sand. She then used Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer in Warm under the eyes, down the bridge of the nose and fanned the product out in the center of the forehead to create dimension. She finished the skin step with the new Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Radiant Light applied all over to create a golden, subtle warmth. “It’s a soft, refined shimmer that’s glowy,” says Andersen.

Cheeks: She used the bronze shade from Hourglass Illume Crème-to-Powder Bronzer Duo in Sunset to contour the cheeks and followed with the blush shade on the apples of the cheeks.

Eyes: Hourglass Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Espresso was first applied to the outer corners of the eyes and then smudged it with a brush. Andersen then applied Hourglass Superficial Waterproof Bronzer in the crease of the eyes and the gold shade from Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Dune on the lids. Lashes were treated to several coats of Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara. She finished up by amplifying the brows with Hourglass Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil in Soft Brunette.

Lips: Finally, Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera, a vibrant tangerine shade, was applied to the lips. The velvety matte color delivers richly pigmented and long-lasting coverage for up to 14 hours.

Celebrity makeup artist Jorjee Douglas used tarte makeup on Zooey Deschanel. “We always love to go very 60s with Zooey’s makeup, so we look at Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy for inspiration. We went with a modern Zooey version that made her blue eyes pop.”

Face: She prepped Zooey’s skin the night before with tarte’s pure maracuja oil to keep her skin soft and glowy. To even out her complexion and ensure her foundation lasted she applied BB tinted treatment primer in fair. Next, she blended tarte’s maracuja miracle 12-hr foundation to add extra radiance to her complexion. To conceal any uneven skin she used tarte’s maracuja creaseless concealer underneath her eyes. She added a pop of color with tarte’s Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in frisky to the apples of her cheeks. For a touch of shimmer, she applied maracuja blush & glow brightening lumiziner and cheek tint in candlelight to the tops of her cheekbones and set her t-zone with a light dusting of Amazonian clay finishing powder.

Eyes: For a strong and defined brow, she used a mixture of tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof brow pencil in taupe and medium brown. To make Zooey’s blue eyes pop, she started by blending the bronze shadows from tarte’s beauty & the box Amazonian clay eyeshadow quad in “in the buff” all over her lids. To create a cat-eye shape, she drew tarte’s multiplEYE lash enhancing liquid liner over her top lashline, with a dip at the outer corner. Inspired by Twiggy’s lashes, she painted on tiny lashes underneath her bottom lashes with the precise tip of multiplEYE lash enhancing liquid liner.  She finished by applying two coats of lights, camera, lashes! 4-in-1 mascara to add major volume and drama to her lashes.

Lips: Douglas patted tarte’s glamazon pure performance 12-hour lipstick in bold over Zooey’s lips with her fingers to create a light stain and then went over it with LipSurgence lip luster in delighted to add extra shine.

Inspired by modern Hollywood glamour, celebrity makeup artist Fiona Stiles created model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s classic red-carpet look.

Face: ”I dusted Burberry’s Warm Glow Summer Glow no.4 Bronzer on Rosie’s cheekbones and forehead for a healthy, fresh glow. Rosie is so incredibly gorgeous and a bit of sun-kissed glow really suits her.” Burberry Velvet Foundation Trench no. 207, Laura Mercier Secret Concealer #3, Benefit “Sun Beam” and Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre #30 were also used.

Eyes: “I kept Rosie’s eyes very simple; a soft wash of neutral color and a bit of definition in the socket. I elongated the eye with a brown pencil, and softened the line with mark I-Mark Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Tabac. I love using brown because it’s so sexy but maintains a soft look. Next, I applied two coats of mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Black to Rosie’s top lashes and one coat of mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Brown/Black to her bottom lashes. I groomed her brows using Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Ash, lightly sculpting them with pencil to create the perfect frame for her face.” Burberry Trench no. 2, Burberry Almond no. 6 and Laura Mercier Kohl Eye Pencil in Brown Copper completed the look.

Lips: “I applied mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Cha Cha for a gorgeous Hollywood finish. A red lip creams glamour, but I matted down the finish and made the edges soft and undefined, patting it on with my finger for a less overpowering look.”
