When attending any wedding, looking your best for all of the cameras snapping photos is usually on any guest’s to-do list. So when attending a royal wedding, the hats are sure to be bigger, the clothes newer and the heels much higher. But not to worry—the new Duke and Duchess have thought of everything to help their guests feel their best on their big day, too—namely, making sure all of those stunning pairs of heels don’t cut into the event-filled day. Anyone who has worn heels while in a standing position knows that the pressure applied to the foot shifts to the front, leading to pain and burning sensations. Other side effects of wearing heels for an extended period of time include calf pain, spider veins, back and knee problems. Not exactly the types of souvenirs one hopes to bring back from the wedding of the year.

Behind the walls of the Windsor Palace, Troian Bellisario, Pretty Little Liar actress and wife of Suits star Patrick Adams (who also happened to be Markle’s on-screen fiancé for years), took to Instagram stories to show her excitement of a surprising addition to the day. “They have slippers for us,” she says enthusiastically with her high heels in hand, recording many other women changing out of their stilettos and into a pair of comfortable spa-looking slippers. “How amazing is this!?” 

If only optional spa slippers were requirement at every wedding.
