What do Princess Diana, Bill Clinton, W.C. Fields and Rembrandt have in common? They all allegedly suffered from rosacea. According to the National Rosacea Society, more than 16 million Americans suffer from the chronic skin condition, which is largely misunderstood. Recognizing it is the first step to being proactive and seeking treatment. So in honor of Rosacea Awareness Month, which is April, we’re going to breakdown some of the common signs.


1. Redness or flushing of the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead that may appear and disappear with regularity

2. As time passes, the redness becomes more pronounced and more persistent

3. Visible blood vessels on the face

4. Facial redness with bumps and pimples

5. Watery or irritated eyes


1. Hot spices such as pepper, paprika and cayenne

2. Really hot, as in temperature, drinks

3. Stress-this is a common rosacea trigger

4. Extreme weather, hot or cold, and direct sunlight (use an SPF)

5. High-intensity workouts that cause overheating
