The story behind Violette Precieuse, by Caron Paris, is almost as romantic as its scent. It was originally created in 1913 as a token of the company founder’s love for his partner. Not to mention violets themselves have been a symbol of love since ancient times. And now, Violette Precieuse has been resurrected.
So when I first tried it on here in the NewBeauty offices, I was pretty surprised when two of my co-workers exclaimed, “You smell like a baby!” Huh?
It turns out that Violette Precieuse smells not unlike the gentle, traditional, violet-based fragrance that many parents of Hispanic descent use on their infants.
Regardless of what Violette Precieuse inspires-romance or memories of childhood-I absolutely love the fragrance, and I’m so glad they’re bringing it back.
