Blepharoplasty can create satisfying and transforming results, but it has its initially tradeoffs. Keep in mind that the first week or so after eyelid surgery may include some discomfort and compromises.

You’ll likely be bleary-eyed or have dry eye for a few days, but this can be alleviated with moisturizing drops. Additionally, contact lenses may not be comfortable for a week or more after surgery if you wear soft lenses, or several weeks if you wear hard lenses.

Manipulating the eyelid to get your lenses in and out can harm delicate tissue as it heals, so be willing to wear glasses for at least a little while.

Be sure to follow your doctor’s post-op instructions exactly, and ask him or her any questions you may have about how to handle any issues you may experience.
