Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd decided she wanted to undergo breast reduction surgery for her 32GG breasts—three years after augmenting them from a natural 32DD—because, as she shared on the show, they were way too big for her body, which led to pain and difficulty performing daily tasks. Now, post-surgery, the 42-year-old is happy with the results, but reveals how getting there wasn’t so easy.
“I love them,” Dodd tells People. “They look great naked.” She says that while her breasts are “up” and “perky,” (she coupled her breast reduction with a breast lift) she wishes they were even smaller than they turned out to be. “I’ve always had big boobs since I was a kid. I wanted them a little bit smaller than they are now, but they look great naked.”

But changing her mind on the size after the fact isn’t the only issue Dodd has had with her recent procedures. She also had complications healing, namely because she moved around too much. “I can’t sit still,” she says. “I have, like, major ADD, and I can’t sit still. It drives me insane. I was walking the dogs, cooking, lifting things.” As a result, the housewife says her sutures opened up, leading to an infection. “It’s completely all my fault.”
Dodd’s incision site has since healed properly, but her experience nonetheless proves that not even the buzziest socialites are exempt from following all post-op instructions from your surgeon. Walking and light activity can be beneficial for proper healing, but you should avoid all pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting and strenuous exercise until your plastic surgeon gives you the go-ahead.
