Post-Procedure Makeup: When Can You Start Wearing It?

Post-Procedure Makeup: When Can You Start Wearing It? featured image

It’s imperative that you proceed with caution while you heal from a procedure, but it’s easy to get antsy about going back to your normal ways, such as wearing makeup.

After surgery, wait a few days after the sutures are removed before opening your makeup bag. At that point, makeup can be used to cover redness and bruising, allowing you to resume your regular activities without feeling self-conscious.

After peels and laser resurfacing, you often need to wear ointment to keep healing skin moist, so you may have to wait longer to start wearing makeup again. In general, you should wait five to seven days after erbium, Pearl and Fraxel treatments, and at least 10 days after CO2 resurfacing.
