There are two schools of thought on whether you should weigh yourself every day. One side says that it’s a great way to keep yourself in check when you diet, the other says that it creates an unhealthy obsession with your weight (among other claims). Recently, actress Salma Hayek admitted in an interview that she believes in the first argument.
“You have to weigh yourself every day, and you have to have an alarm number. When you get to that number, you have to start putting it in reverse,” she says. But the petite actress still allows herself to indulge in her favorite foods and red wines, claiming food is her weakness.
Hayek also says that being in love with her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, gives her the motivation to watch her weight. “I think if I was not in love, I would probably let myself go faster. Love gives me the vanity to continue.”
