Perlane just received FDA approval earlier this month, but word is spreading fast about the results.
Because it’s a larger-particle hyaluronic acid than Restylane, you can expect a little more redness and bruising if you experience this with other dermal fillers. But you can also expect very soft, natural feeling fullness when Perlane is used to shape the apples of the cheeks, sculpt the chin or jawline and fill in deep facial folds. Some doctors are using Perlane to really plump up the volume of the lips, but for outlining the lip border, a less dense filler like Restylane or CosmoDerm are still preferred.
While the label states Perlane lasts 6 months or more, because it is a larger particle size, you can expect it to reabsorb more slowly than other fillers. Translation: longer-lasting results.
