“He kept asking me what every point was, and I said, ‘Why don’t you just join?’” Oprah said on the call, adding, “For me, it’s so much better when other people are also counting points. We do hold each other accountable.”
As an ambassador for the organization, Oprah previously shared a few weight-loss tricks with Today that anyone can employ.
1. Opt for fish. “Seafood is your friend!” she said. Oprah said she loves Asian sea bass, but often opts for cod, which is easier to find in the U.S. It’s low-fat and full of essential nutrients like vitamin B12 and omega fatty acids.
2. Try under-the-radar veggies. “I love jicama because you get a crunch,” she said. It’s low in calories but high in nutrients and is very versatile when cooking—you can use it in salads, soups, stir-fries and more.

According to The New York Daily News, Oprah will develop products (everything from dairy and fish to baked goods and fruit) under the name Oprah’s Kitchen. There’s no news yet on when consumers can expect to see the products, but stay tuned to NewBeauty for updates!
