A Surprising New Dermatologist-Grade Line Is Coming to Ulta

By ·

Caring for the skin on your face and body has become commonplace in the beauty sector, but taking the time to pamper your hands and feet outside of a mani-pedi appointment isn’t as easy to do, even for a beauty editor. But lucky for all of us, the newest line from OPI, one of our go-to polish brands, is about to make things a whole lot easier. Enter: ProSpa, a line of 14 hand and foot care products each formulated with dermatologic ingredients for the best possible results—in fact, the line was inspired by anti-aging skin care. According to WWD, Newport Beach, CA, dermatologist Dr. Zena Gabriel consulted on the line, which is intended to be used as add-on treatments during your usual manicures and pedicures, and include a vast range of products including a Moisture Whip Massage Cream, Protective Hand Serum and Moisture Bonding Ceramide Spray.

“We are the color authority, and we’re going to be the skin care authority in the professional nail industry as well,” says OPI cofounder and brand ambassador Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, adding that the reason the line focuses on higher-grade, effective ingredients might be a surprising one: “The Millennial generation is very conscious of ingredients; they really look at what’s inside.” Dr. Gabriel agrees, saying that Millennials are very concerned with the active ingredients in their products and what is working where. “We took a cosmeceutical-based science approach to ingredient mixing,” she adds. The products bottle highly sought-after ingredients including Brazilian cupuaçu butter, white tea extract and key peptides to better skin at the source. The line will roll out at CosmoProf stores May 15 and select products will also be available at Ulta Beauty.
