Night creams are often advertised as the only standing between you and tighter, wrinkle-free, hydrated skin. While some night creams actually do make a big difference in your skin, others aren’t worth the often steep price tags. Plastic surgeons have all the options available to them, from top-notch surgical procedures to medical-grade skin care, so you know if they’re using a product, it’s worthwhile. We talked with a few plastic surgeons to see which night creams they rely on to keep their skin looking young, healthy and hydrated.

Epionce Intensive Nourishing Cream ($114)

“Epionce deeply hydrates the skin, and the technology behind it truly helps to prevent and correct skin damage,” says Las Vegas plastic surgeon Mary C. Herte, MD. “It improves skin texture and luminosity. It is big a game-changer for the skin!”

Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar ($195)

Houston plastic surgeon Henry A. Mentz, MD, has a simple nighttime routine. He showers, drys his skin then applies Alastin Regenerating Skin Nectar.

“This is an outstanding product that can be added to any skin regimen as well as enhance the results of aesthetic/surgical procedures. It contains a proprietary blend of peptides that penetrate the skin and stimulate collagen and elastin,” says Dr. Mentz. “It also contains high levels of antioxidants that reduce inflammation and redness. I also love the way it makes my skin feel, making it plumper, softer, with a more healthy glow.

ZO Skin Health Growth Factor Serum ($150)

“Its luxurious and rich texture softens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles,” says Houston, TX plastic surgeon Olga Bachilo, MD. “This product also promotes the production of collagen, strengthens the skin, provides anti-inflammatory benefits, all while preventing future signs of aging.”

SkinMedica TNS Advanced+ Serum ($225)

“Without a doubt, TNS Advanced + Serum is my go-to night cream,” says Tucson, AZ plastic surgeon Raman Mahabir, MD. “Truly a next-generation ‘hero’ product, it hydrates, smooths visible lines and tightens sagging skin all in one.” Although Dr. Mahabir said he was happy with his skin-care routine before, once he switched to the TNS Advanced+ Serum, he “was wowed with the visible difference it made in just a few weeks.”

ZO Skin Health Wrinkle + Texture Repair ($154)

Tucson, AZ plastic surgeon Silvia Kurtovic, MD, says almost everyone can benefit from using retinol in their nighttime routine, and if you have healthy skin, this retinol is safe to use every evening. “It’s my favorite retinol by far,” she says. “With its microemulsion and high potency, it restores natural hydration and visibly improves the appearance of wrinkles and skin texture. I love how healthy it makes my skin look and feel.”

She notes that this retinol is super versatile. “In the winter, I combine it with ZO Pigment Control + Blending (4% hydroquinone and 20% vitamin C) to aggressively even out pigment.” In the summer, Dr. Kurtovic swaps that out since it makes you sensitive to the sun and replaces it with ZO Brightalive ($130) “for a brighter complexion without the sun sensitivity.”

6 / 7

Skinceuticals A.G.E. Interrupter ($162)

Dr. Herte says this product is a treatment and moisturizer in one. “It stops the glycation process, which is a breakdown of collagen and elastin in the skin. It gives skin good strength and turgor. It creates a beautiful glow,” says Dr. Herte. She adds that it’s safe to use around the eyes as well.

7 / 7

DefenAge 8-in-1 Bioserum PRO ($220)

Dr. Bachilo loves this 8-in-1 product. She explains that it’s a great addition to any skin-care regimen as it compliments other products’ benefits rather than counteracting them.

It has DefenAge’s proprietary Age-Repair Defensin Complex that keeps repairs your natural skin barrier and protects your skin from harmful elements that contribute to skin aging, says Dr. Bachilo. “I recommend this to all my patients that are in their mid 40’s or older or have sensitive skin. It’s a beautiful alternative to retinol products.”
