I’m fairly confident I’m not alone when I say that, since the long-awaited release of season three of Netflix’s hit show Bridgerton, Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton have been consuming just about all of my waking thoughts. At this point, my internal monologue sounds like Julie Andrews reading the latest Whistledown, and I’m seriously considering making regency balls a thing again.
While we all can’t get enough of Polin’s slow-burn, friends-to-lovers plot line, as a beauty fanatic, I’m also obsessed with all things hair and makeup across the seasons of Bridgerton. One of the most miraculous parts of the show, for me, has been that of Nicola Coughlan—the real-life Penelope Featherington—and her youthful complexion (I had to do a double take when I found out she was 37). While the hair, makeup and costuming play a large role in transforming Coughlan into a teenaged lady-in-waiting, a behind-the-scenes video from her glam squad revealed that pre-filming treatments with this skin-care tool also play a part.
Nicola Coughlan Uses NuFace Before Filming for Bridgerton
While I know it to be true, I still find it hard to believe that Nicola Coughlan is nearing 40, as her radiant and youthful complexion makes her look not a day past 20. Coughlan’s skin is something to marvel at on screen and off, though, and thanks to a video posted by her hairstylist Farida Ghwedar, we know that the NuFace Trinity ($385) lends a hand in keeping her flawless skin glowing and plump.
While the video is sped up and it’s hard to decipher exactly what products are being used to prep Coughlan for a day on the Bridgerton set, one product that is clear is NuFace’s iconic Trinity device, which the actress is seen using along her jawline, neck and cheeks. Perfect for lifting, firming and toning the face before any big event, it’s no surprise that the actress turns to the microcurrent device before she gets in front of the lens.
