The past few years have revealed quite a few new travel restrictions, with one of the more prominent ones being the much stricter rule for packing liquids and gels into three-ounce bottles before entering airport security. And while this rule was clearly a major change for travelers, the latest Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announcement might be just as huge when it comes to deciding how to pack for your next trip.
As reported by CNN, the TSA will now be limiting the amount of powders in carry-on bags of travelers entering the U.S. From June 30 onward, all powder substances—including makeup, protein shake mix, and spices—will be restricted to only 12 ounces (350mL) allowed per carry-on (that’s about the average size of a standard soda can). This new policy will hugely affect those carrying dietary supplements like collagen powders or whey protein, as well as meal replacement powders like Soylent and Huel, causing a hinderance for those who rely on these products for nutritional value.
