Let’s Just Get to the Point:
The skin savants at Naturopathica have done it again: This Holy Grail product with burdock and red clover helps fight bad breakouts and stressed skin—all for under $30. This elixir is the poster product for people who wish to drink their way to clearer skin.
If You Want to Know More:
I’ll be the first to admit that being a beauty editor is not a bad gig. I’m constantly inundated with amazing people and opportunities. I will say this of the job description though: As someone with historically ance-prone skin, the amount of skin care, hair care and makeup that touches my body each day is astronomical. Since I moved to New York less than two years ago, I’ve lived in a constant state of overdone product testing—in my mind, the equivalent of wearing way too many layers on a hot summer day. And my skin cries out for help.

I’ve never been one to seriously tinker with tinctures or supplements, but since I began taking the Naturopathica Burdock Healthy Skin Tincture ($29) over a month ago, my breakouts have been reduced to here-and-there pop ups that never get too deep or painful. I have no real means to measure this, but my skin just seems healthier and brighter in general too, which is right on track with my quest to achieve Katie Jane Hughes-esque levels of dewy skin. The star ingredient of this concentrate, burdock, has been traditionally used in Eastern medicine for its antimicrobial capabilities and is touted as a treatment for everything from diabetes to certain cancers. One thing we’re absolutely sure it can do: help address acne flare-ups.
Every morning, I place a half dropper of the solution under my tongue—though the official website recommends adding into one of your daily drinks—and continue on with my skin care routine. It’s literally that simple. The formula tastes a little funky, but is extremely palatable and gets better with each use (in my humble opinion).
The best thing about this game-changing product is the ingredient list: it’s 100% natural, vegan and gluten-free. You can even (almost) count all of the ingredients on your fingers alone: burdock, dandelion root, stinging nettle, Oregon grape root, gotu kola, calendula, red clover, ginger rhizome, water, cane alcohol and vegetable glycerin. The only thing Naturopathica forgot to list is actual magic, which I’m absolutely convinced can be found within the small glass bottle of anti-acne wizardry.
