New hairstyle hesitaters, commitment-phobes and anyone who wants to try the trendy pastel hair-color shades but doesn’t know if they can pull it off, take note: There’s now a new hair mask in town that let’s you take a test-drive.

Created by the team at Benjamin of the Benjamin salons in Los Angeles, the Moody Girls Masks ($28) are temporary hair colors that make life so, so easy—without a trip to the salon or harsh chemicals.

You can do them at home; just shampoo, towel-dry, apply, let sit for 15 minutes (30 if you want more pigment), and rinse with cold water. It’s not messy and the result is a pop of pastel—the shades come in Lovey Dovey (Pink), Cry Baby (Blue), Mellow (Yellow), Peachy Keen (Peach) and Peppy (Green)—that lasts for up to six washes.

Because the product doesn’t bleach or lift natural hair color, it’s formulated for use on light hair only. So blonds take note—there’s now no reason *not* to try the latest hot hue.
