Every woman should own a bag she truly loves—one that is unique just to her, has everything she wants, is totally customized and completely luxe.
At least that’s what Mon Purse founder and CEO Lana Hopkins thinks. After struggling to find a handbag that had “quality and design that satisfied her,” she saw an opportunity in the market to create something that would give customers “their own brand,” while tapping into the customization trend. Last year, her line debuted in Australia; two weeks ago she launched at Bloomingdales New York (the site also became available for U.S. customers at that time).

The concept is pretty genius: Provide technology to let consumers “build” their dream bag. The company uses a 3D online bag builder, from which customers can create more than 6 billion different variations where features like the leather color, texture, interior linings, hardware, monogramming and other customizations can all be added and/or tweaked. (The technology is so good, you can zoom in on every tiny detail before you finalize it.)
