Molly Sims has shared a behind-the-scenes look at how she gets her gorgeous glow, which she attributes to her makeup artist Sir John. One of the keys to achieving a healthy-looking, lit from within glow is hydration. Luckily, the moisturizer Sir John uses on Sims is only $20, so you can get the right base for a luminous look at a great price.
Before doing anything, Sir John applies moisturizer to Sims’ face. “So I want your skin to look super fresh, very hydrated,” he says. He uses Honest Hydrogel Cream ($20). The cooling, moisturizing cream features hyaluronic acid, squalane and jojoba esters—just what the doctor ordered for skin in need of some extra hydration.
“I always make sure that the skin is wet from the moisturizer when I put on foundation,” says Sir John. He notes that you don’t have to rub foundation all over your face. “Wherever you need coverage, give yourself coverage, but dial it down where you don’t.”
When applying concealer, he says he likes to use “a fluffy eyeshadow brush because it really goes in, and it looks almost like the concealer was airbrushed on. He notes that you want to make sure your concealer is “warmer in cooler” than your foundation. Sir John uses NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30) on Sims.
Sir John also shares an eyebrow hack—a little bit of glue. You put a touch of glue on the spoolie and brush it through your brows. “This is going to keep the brows in place all day,” he says.
