Rhinoplasty can improve the appearance of not only your nose, but your entire face. In addition to the aesthetic benefits, however, the procedure is performed to remedy a variety of medical conditions.
Breathing problems can be fixed by addressing the internal structures of the nose. Sinus problems and chronic allergies can be alleviated, as well.
Actress Ashley Tisdale, for example, says she got rhinoplasty in 2007 to correct a deviated septum and two small fractures. She denies that the surgery was for cosmetic reasons, but the aesthetic improvement is obvious.
When performed for medical reasons, a portion of rhinoplasty is often covered by health insurance. Be sure to discuss this with your surgeon at your initial consultation, though, as it may be necessary to obtain pre-approval from the providing company.
