When I don’t get enough sleep or don’t drink enough water, my eyes show the first telltale signs. I’ve tried using cucumber slices a couple of times and – if you can believe this – they ended up irritating my eyes. I’ve also tried various under eye treatments and found that they don’t hydrate as much as I need them to. When I found Estée Lauder‘s Stress Relief Eye Mask, I had great hopes that this product would solve my two issues: under-eye puffiness and bags.
Estée Lauder’s Stress Relief Eye Mask is packaged like this: Each pair of eye strips is soaked in solution and placed in a plastic holder. The holders are sealed in heavy-duty packaging and then ten of these are grouped together and sold in a box for $30. Estée Lauder promises you that their pre-moistened eye pads will hydrate and smooth your eye area (for up to six hours), diminish puffiness and other signs of fatigue, and reduce appearance of fine lines.
Use the eye mask whenever you want, although you’ll probably notice the biggest difference when your fatigued, stressed out or have done a lot of air traveling. I’ve used them in ALL three circumstances. They’re so easy to tuck into your purse and they don’t set off any metal detectors.
Remove the pre-soaked eye strips from the package (pulling one apart from the other) and place on the under-eye area. You’ll notice that there’s a lot of liquid in them. The strips will stretch from one corner of your eye all the way up to the high end of your eye. Gently patting them down will make them stay in place.
Leave the eye strips on for 10 minutes. If you leave them on longer, that’s okay too. I have sensitive skin and I wondered if leaving them on longer would irritate my skin but they did not.
Allegedly, these eye strips work for all skin types. My skin is dry and sensitive and it worked well for me. The liquid that the strips are soaked in is fragrance free, and dermatologist/ophthalmologist tested.
Since the very first time that I tried these, I have been quite pleased with the results. The Aloe Vera seems to calm my skin while the cucumber extract seems to give my eye area a boost. I always apply an eye-moisturizing product afterwards and I notice a big difference in how that area is able to absorb and hold moisture.
