It seems counterintuitive, but over the years, I’ve gotten increasingly bad at applying mascara. It seems the more experience I have with the one makeup item I won’t leave home without wearing, the more of a total slob I am while putting it on. I can’t remember a recent day that didn’t involve getting a black blob somewhere it didn’t belong.
So, when Penelope Cruz showed up on my TV and started telling me about L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara in her adorable Spanish accent, she definitely caught my attention. Instead one of the same old fuzzy, oblong brushes that have become increasingly frustrating for me to control, it features a flexible, spherical brush.
It may look like a tiny medieval torture device, but this brilliant brush is a joy to use. The evenly-coating formula goes on with effortless expertise, even in the most challenging spots-you know what I’m talking about. The corners that usually can’t get covered without depositing a clump of mascara on your skin.
I love how my lashes look super-long and fanned-out, and they got that way without incident. I won’t be the least bit surprised if other brands follow suit with other spherical applicators, especially if other sloppy women like me catch on to how klutz-friendly Telescopic Explosion is.
