Anyone who has ever had braces or dental restorations is familiar with impressions-and the unpleasant texture and uncomfortable gagging that often goes with them.
But one of the most recent technologies to reach dentists’ offices is digital impressions, which involves taking pictures of the teeth. The photos are then sent over the internet to a lab, where a computer creates a perfect impression of the teeth that is often more accurate than traditional impressions.
This option is also better for the environment, because the dentists don’t have to use silicone, which would end up in landfills; nor do they use gas to transport molds.
