If you’re like me, you have two foundations for two different times of year. My skin tone is significantly darker in the summer so I go up a shade when I’m looking for coverage over the warmer months. But with fall practically here, it’s time to start searching for a new makeup in a lighter shade. As you probably know, that’s easier said than done.
I have a laundry list of requirements for my makeup. The top three: First, it shouldn’t look like I’m wearing it. Second, I would like some SPF so I can feel like I’m addressing my dermatologist’s command to wear sunscreen every day and third, I’d like to feel like I’m applying something that’s nourishing for my skin.
I think Bobbi Brown had me in mind when she created Skin Foundation Mineral Makeup SPF 15. An obvious choice, this new makeup is far from your average mineral makeup. It looks like skin, but although it gives a translucent appearance, it still diminishes the appearance of imperfections. It’s magical! Better yet, it contains moisturizers, vitamins and other good-for-you ingredients that will have your skin glowing, naturally. If you’re looking for light coverage, I suggest applying the powder with a face brush. If you’re looking for heavier coverage, use a powder puff to work it into your skin and then finish by sweeping over it with a brush. And with nine skin-tone-correct shades available, there’s one perfect for you, too.
