Your wedding day is, perhaps, the biggest and most important day of your life. You spend hours upon hours (not to mention thousands of dollars) to make sure every single detail of your nuptials is planned according to your specific taste—that no part of your big day is neglected. And, of course, all that attention to detail gets just as much thought, if not more, in the beauty department. Brides go to any and all lengths to make sure that their hair and makeup is impeccable. This is the one day you want to look and feel your absolute best.

So, why would anyone opt to go totally makeup-free on the start of their new life with the man they love? Guess not every woman feels that wearing makeup on her wedding day is a big deal. Recently, there was a tweet put out showing a bride totally makeup free and following the #nomakeup movement like so many celebrities (including Adele and Alicia Keys) have been doing on social media.

While we’re not against going barefaced and clean on your wedding, or for any event, if you choose to do it you better make sure your skin is in tip-top shape. The best way to do it is to establish a skin-care routine with your dermatologist and aesthetician at least six months prior to your wedding. This way, you’ll have plenty of time to address any skin-related issues and you’ll be able to reap the benefits, and see results, of the products and treatments you use.
