Best for a no-fuss application: NYX Retractable Eye Liner ($5)
Celebrity makeup artist Amber Amos says she loves these colorful liners because of their great pigment and staying power. “They stay pretty sharp in the tube and glide on like a dream.”
Best for faking fuller lashes: Maybelline Precise Skinny Gel Pencil ($8)
“This is my favorite for amping up your lashline and giving your eyes extra definition,” says celebrity makeup artist Aliana Lopez, adding that the skinny point is perfect for tightlining your upper waterline and smudging into your lashes. “It gives the illusion of a fuller lashline, which makes your lashes look a lot more full.”
Best for staying put: Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner ($8)
“This super black waterproof liner is smudge proof and lasts for hours,” explains Stoj, makeup artist for Streeters. “I love to draw my liner with a brown pencil first, then perfect the line with a wet Q-tip to make the line sharp. My last step is going over the brown liner with this waterproof one in shade Blackest Black.”
