We’ve followed Britney Spears through her beauty ups and downs. We’ve seen her with her iconic blond hair, brown hair, black hair, and even with no hair at all. We’ve watched her climb up the fame ladder from Disney Mouseketeer to Grammy-winning diva and back down again. Basically, not a lot of the songstress’s life has been left out of the public eye.

Today, Britney is back on top. She’s judging the hit show The X Factor and looks better than ever. The drama is gone and now stands a woman with a tight, toned body, fabulously highlighted blond hair, flawless skin and a smile so white and straight you wouldn’t think she’s seen a hard day in her life.

So let’s break it down, how is it that miss Spears looks so great? We did some investigation.

The Body
Britney’s post-baby body is as slim and toned as it was in her 20-something heyday. The star is reported to have tried everything from fat-melting injections—also known as lipolysis to intense “no sugar diets” and non-stop cardio. During training for tours, Britney sticks to about 1,200 calories a day and works out five times a week with a personal trainer.

If you want to slim down like she does, but can’t commit to such a rigorous routine, you can borrow the principal ideas. Just limit your caloric intake (in a healthy way), it can restrict excess fat from being stored since the more calories you use for energy, the fewer your body will stockpile. Also, upping your cardiovascular workouts will also help you take off the pounds. “You want to keep your heart rate in the fat-burning zone. Try power walking on an incline, elliptical machines or rollerblading,” says celebrity fitness consultant Ashley Borden.

The Hair
From black to blond and everything in between, Spears has seen it all. We think she looks best now with light blond highlights. Experts say that when it comes to getting gorgeous, natural-looking color, the basic rule is not to go more than two to three shades darker or lighter from the natural base color of your hair. And, there should always be a connection to the original color, even if it is simply through the eyebrow.

The Skin
Britney’s skin looks radiant and wrinkle-free. While she has battled skin issues like acne in the past, it looks as if those days are long gone. When most celebrities want to get their skin in tiptop shape, they turn to a dermatologist. After all, laser and light treatments and chemical peels can do wonders to resurface the skin.
