I’d like to bet that most women have at least one MAC product in their collection—after all, the brand has been around since 1984 and makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts everywhere have been using its products and singing its praises ever since.
But until recently, MAC products were only available at department stores and the brand’s own stores, as well as online via those same retailers. Now, we’re seeing a new strategy from the brand, and we’re giving it two thumbs up. In March, MAC’s exciting launch at Ulta Beauty stores was revealed, and as WWD reported this week, the brand is also launching in Nordstrom Rack stores nationwide (rumor has it some products have already been spotted in select stores), which is big news for beauty junkies who love a good bargain. However, there’s a catch.
A brand spokeswoman told WWD: “This is not an ongoing partnership; rather it allows the brand to free up space on our selling floors and make room for the season’s new launches and our top-selling products.” So, because MAC’s presence will be short-lived, you better make the most of it by stocking up on your favorites, which will be priced 20–55 percent off. That’s a serious discount, and for the real thing! No shady online counterfeits here.
And who knows, if it’s wildly successful, maybe MAC will decide to make the partnership “ongoing.” Fingers crossed!
