As expected, the 2025 Academy Awards delivered no shortage of glitz and glamour on Sunday, March 2, at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The 97th annual event celebrated the year’s best film performances, but the red carpet was a spectacle in its own right, brimming with bold beauty and high-fashion moments. Luxury brands weren’t the only ones making a statement, though; drugstore beauty had its own share of the spotlight. Case in point: Not one but three A-listers stepped onto the red carpet wearing lipstick from L’Oréal Paris.
Kelly Ripa, Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro were among the stars to wear the budget-friendly favorite, with their glam teams using all L’Oréal Paris products to complete their looks. While each lipstick choice was tailored to complement their individual aesthetics, all three reached for the Colour Riche line.
Ripa and Barbaro both wore the shade 601 Worth It (described by the brand as a pinky nude) though in different formulas—Ripa in the classic Colour Riche Lipstick and Barbaro in the Colour Riche Intense Volume Matte Lipstick. Meanwhile, Fanning took a softer approach with the Colour Riche Lipstick in Ballerina Shoes (light pink).
All three looks embodied timeless elegance. Ripa’s makeup artist, Kristofer Buckle, described her lip look as “a medium nude and glossy,” while Fanning’s artist, Erin Ayanian Monroe, went for “classic old Hollywood beauty.” As for Barbaro, her makeup artist, Samantha Lau, sought to create “a modern take on timeless red-carpet beauty.”
