I have—shall we say—a very special type of hair. It’s naturally oily—not in a shiny Vidal Sassoon commercial kind of way, but rather that greasy, I just hiked-a-mountain look. Factor in a year of hair coloring and those greasy roots have grown into dry, fried, frizzy ends.
Although I’ve experimented with hair oils before, I’ve never found one that was able to address both of my concerns—dryness and greasiness. Most oils do tend to make my hair feel softer, but exacerbate the grease factor, leaving my strands feeling coated, heavy and limp. Most hair oils have a hard time absorbing into the hair (another secret no one’s telling you: many of them contain also silicone in the blend!), therefore only coating individual strands and leaving behind an unpleasant residue.

When I tried the exact same test on my own hair after the applying the oil to my strands, I pleasantly got the same results. My hair was left soft and manageable, but not even a tad greasy.
