Lipstick Powder Is the Genius Beauty Trend That’s About to Blow Up

By ·

Lipstick innovation has improved immensely in the past decade, becoming much more expansive than the simple bullet-shaped applicators we’ve all gotten so used to. Now, the beauty industry is oversaturated with liquid lipsticks, lip stains, and glosses all available for purchase. But while these products have all served us well, it’s the newest version of lipstick that’s really getting consumers excited.

They come in these cute tiny little jars and of course are super cheap. I got mine on sale so they were around 5,000 won each. In the Lipmanicure ones there are 11 shades available. They feel quite wet like a tint when applying but are much more opaque. They dry to a matte finish and that is where I have the problem. For me it is too dry feeling and it looks terrible. It goes into all the cracks in my lips and you can see every line. Obviously as a matte product you need to make sure your lips are in tip top condition before using it. My lips are never in the best condition and naturally have a lot of lines. It is supposed to be very long lasting and even comes with its own lip remover. I did not find it that long lasting but I never do with these products that claim to last forever. I don't know if it's just me but it didn't last much longer than 2 to 3 hours. The Lip Powder comes in 4 shades. The powder turns creamy in contact with your lips. Like a tint you work from the inside out. I found I had a similar problems with these that I had with the other ones. It looks a bit patchy and goes into the lines. It's not as bad as the very matte one and it's not as drying. The effect is kind of like a tint with a velvety finish. I just use my finger to smudge it out like I do with other tint products and you can make a graident effect with it. You can build the color up more but I find it can be patchy so a light tint application works best for me. If my lips are having a good day and I use some lipbalm before applying. I can get it to look halfway decent. You can also apparently use it on the cheeks but I haven't tried that. It tastes really sweet when you get it in your mouth so that's good. #koreancosmetics #kbeauty #rire #rirecosmetics #lips #lip #lipmakeup #lipmanicure #lippower 💖💕💖💕💖 #Beauti_Review

Thanks to Korean brand, RiRe Cosmetics, you can now snag a long-lasting lipstick in a finely ground powder form. Apparently, the powder liquefies once it is applied to the lips and contains essential oils for extra hydration and a smoother feel. “You’d think a powder would be the worst lip product, but as soon as it hit my lips it instantly became like a lip gloss and went on easy. It stayed on all day and I didn’t feel dried out once,” explained one user in an interview with BuzzFeed.

While the Amazon reviews were a bit mixed regarding the staying power of each lip powder, we can’t help but be intrigued by the unusual formula. If interested, you can buy the lip powder for $6 each here and check out a tutorial for how to use it, below.
