Lagom is one of those beauty brands that has a lot of buzzwords: K-Beauty (it’s pegged as one of Peach & Lily’s hottest new lines), developed by doctors (as in a lot of them) and based on science (the super hydrating hero ingredient is based on Nobel Prize–winning science). It was also started by Kowon, one of Korea’s most iconic makeup artists, who wanted to create something that was guaranteed to deliver healthy, radiant skin.
It has a lot of good, legit claims to back up everything the line does, but it also thinks you should take a break from using it once in a while.
The brand’s thinking: People need to let their complexions rest, sort of how we look at “detoxing” the body via juicing and eating organic food. So they are set on keeping ingredient counts in their products low and creating formulas that “provide only the moisture and nutrition that healthy skin needs, while giving it a break through a minimum-step skin care routine.”

Part of that philosophy also involves looking at the weekdays separately from the weekends—at least when it comes to how many products you use. For during the week, the brand recommends washing your face twice: First, with its Gel to Water Cleanser ($18), then with its Micro Foam Cleanser, followed by its Cellus Mist Toner ($21) and one of its creams. The weekends are for healing and restoring, and the brand’s preferred lineup involves reducing the amount of products to a three-step routine that includes one cleanser, the toner and the Mild Moisture Cream ($34).
Whether you follow the routine to a T or not, the products are pretty effective. The cleansers are the kind that wash away everything, yet don’t strip skin in the process. And the spray toner is pretty much the lightest, most hydrating, freshly-scented, skin-plumping product ever that works particularly well when worn over makeup midday.
