The Simple Trick That Kourtney Kardashian Uses to Lose 2 Pounds In A Day

By ·

Businesswoman and mother of three, Kourtney Kardashian has often been hailed as the most “relatable” and “underrated” Kardashian thanks to her laid-back demeanor and laissez-faire attitude on and off camera. But when she recently spoke up about her weight-loss and skin care secrets in an interview with Byrdie, it was nothing to take lightly, and her post-baby bod is proof.

“I would say a little tightening is always good,” the 37-year-old, and now global brand ambassador for skin care brand Manuka Doctor, says of her most demanding anti-aging concern. Her favorite go-to treatments? Under-eye gels kept in the fridge for extra de-puffing power and the Manuka Doctor Rejuvenating Face Mask ($85), which she promises she sincerely loves. “I think just also getting proper rest and drinking tons of water help,” she adds.

If you’ve seen an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, you’ve probably noticed how Kourtney always has a bottle or glass of water on hand. And like every other health craze she subscribes to, she’s not budging on this one. According to Byrdie, the eldest sister of the Kardashian family has made an effort in the past few years to start counting her daily ounces to keep her on track. “Whenever I notice that I’m feeling bloated or like I need to step up [my body] or something, it’s always because I’m not drinking enough water,” she says. “When I step up the water, I’ll instantly lose like two pounds in one day.” While the claim sounds farfetched, there is some rationality to it. “Half the time when you’re hungry, you’re really thirsty,” she explains. “I mean, I eat constantly throughout the day, so I’m not saying don’t eat and just drink water, but I notice I eat less just because I’m so full from the water.”

As for the exercise she relies on to keep her physique in tip-top shape, Kourtney says her favorite workout is at home with her trainer (if you follow her on Snapchat, you know she has a well-documented love of working out with friends and family on her basketball court) because it’s “fun.”

“Once in a while, we’ll try to do a full ab day where like half the workout is abs,” she adds. “It’s intense.” And for the surprising workout she likes the least? “SoulCycle,” she says of the popular spin studio. “It’s just not for me. I go in, I feel like I have no clue what I’m doing, no clue about turning that knob thing; I can’t tell the difference between one move and the next. It’s just so not for me. I don’t know, maybe I’ve been to the wrong classes—I’ve only tried it twice—and maybe I’ve had the wrong teacher. But every time I’ve been I’m like, Why on earth? How is everyone obsessed with this?”

And while we don’t all have the luxury of sampling every type of boutique fitness studio and having a personal trainer on speed dial, her honesty goes to show that not every fad workout is right for every person who tries it. What is for everyone, however, is caring for your body the best way you know how. In the meantime, we’re reaching for an extra glass (or 10) of H2O.
