We’ve never been to the Emmy’s, but we can imagine that many hours sitting in an air-conditioned theater probably isn’t great for anyone’s skin. That’s why stars spend so much time getting their skin ready with facials and major skin care routines right before they hit the red carpet. After all, flaky skin, chapped lips and HD TV does not make for a flattering awards acceptance shot.

Kristen Bell is one star that took to social media before her jaw-dropping red carpet debut to give fans a behind-the-scenes peek at her getting-ready routine. In an Instagram post, Bell is seen wearing a sheet mask around her forehead and eyes and a lip mask that covers the lower half of her face.

“Getting ready for the #emmys.” Bell captions the photo. “Look closely…I have serious doubts this is actually a lip conditioning sticker my makeup artist @simonesiegl applied over my mouth…I’m pretty sure she just wanted me to zip it.”

Bell may have been joking, but her makeup artist knew that lip masks are the new must-have product to achieve younger-looking lips.
