Kim Kardashian is speaking out about her famous backside—did she or didn’t she get some type of work done to craft a butt that could break the Internet?

After years of silence, the reality TV star finally admits that she did get something injected into her butt that contributed to its changing shape—but it was not for vanity. It was to treat her psoriasis

According to US Weekly, Kardashian shared via livestream what happened.

“I went to go get a cortisone shot in my butt,” Kardashian explained. “I lived right behind Kitson [in LA]. One of my neighbors was a dermatologist at Cedars [Sinai]. I go in there and he’s like, ‘There’s a one in a billion chance that you will get a huge indent in your butt.’ Of course I get a huge indent on my butt.”

Kardashian goes on to explain that the cortisone-induced indent is to blame for the rumors that butt implants caused her butt to become lumpy.

“There is a picture of me in Miami wearing an electric blue dress, and another picture of me walking down Robertson,” she said. “You see the indent. And I think that’s when the rumors started: ‘She’s had implants.”

According to doctors, Kardashian is accurate about cortisone shots leading to butt indentations. “One of the risks of steroid use is that it can cause thinning of the skin leading to concavities, or dents,” says Los Angeles plastic surgeon Babak Dadvand, MD. “Steroid injections will not cause the buttocks to increase in size and typically dents that occur from steroid injections don’t self-correct.”

Not all doctors however are buying into her story. “Cortisone treatment is not the usual treatment for psoriasis unless the psoriasis is affecting the joints, known as psoriatic arthritis,” says New York plastic surgeon Kenneth Francis, MD. “In that situation it is injected into the affected joint only.”

Although Kardashian is still mum about whether or not she had any injections that actually enhanced the shape of her rear, Ellicott City, MD, plastic surgeon Daniel Markmann, MD recommends not getting shots at all. “The only approved procedures for butt augmentation are butt implants and the Brazilian Butt Lift,” he says. “The safest procedure for buttocks augmentation by far is the Brazilian Butt Lift!”
