Kim Kardashian made news at last night’s Met Gala doing something her famous family isn’t always so well-known for: keeping it simple.
As reported on by E!, Mario Dedivanovic (her makeup artist go-to) was inspired by “clean skin on the runway” and translated that look to the red carpet.

“We created a really nice base with the complexion, using more tan colors, and kept the eyes really simple and lash-y,” he told E!
Not only was the look simple, but so were the steps to get it, as Dedivanovic shared an Instagram snap of five products in his lineup—all courtesy of Kiehl’s. According to E!, he prepped the skin with the brand’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Mask ($32) to brighten, applied the Midnight Recovery Concentrate ($46) to the cheekbones for “an extra glow,” and topped it off with the Ultra Facial Cream SPF 30 ($48).
As for that finishing foundation touch? Chanel Le Teint Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Flawless Foundation ($60) in 50 Beige was the secret and Dedivanovic offered this tip for keeping it fresh: “At home, most people tend to apply foundation with their fingers. Try buffing it in with a round foundation brush in circles. It tends to have a great finish.”
