The vision that is Kelsea Ballerini has arrived on the Grammy’s red carpet and we have all the details that went into the totally attainable glam.
“Kelsea’s gorgeous black-and-white dress inspired us to give a nod to a classic makeup look,” shares Kelsey Deenihan, who works double-duty as Ballerini’s hair and makeup artist. “Slightly retro with a modern twist, this cut-crease and winged eyeliner are glam for a red carpet.”
For Kelsea’s eyes, Deenihan started by applying Shell from the CoverGirl TruNaked Nudes Palette to the entire lid, up to the brow bone. (Bonus: Every single makeup item runs less than $11.)
“Then, with a small liner brush, I used Jet from the CoverGirl TruNaked Smoky Palette and created a small, soft winged liner. To intensify the lash line, I added CoverGirl Exhibitionist Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner in Black. Slightly above the crease, I used Cocoa from the CoverGirl TruNaked Nudes Palette and blended to create a cut crease. For a dramatic lash, I applied a few generous coats of the CoverGirl Exhibitionist Stretch & Strengthen Mascara in 800 Very Black.”
The black-and-white ensemble also inspired the hair style—”a simple nod to a classic bouffant, but with a modern twist and smooth, movable texture.” Exclusively using Nexxus products, Deenihan showcased Nexxus Maxximum Finishing Mist ($12) as her final insurance step, which she sprayed all over “to ensure the hair has movement, but will stay in place all night long.”
