The job of being a fashion stylist to the stars comes with a mile-long list of job responsibilities. But the one that ranks high up—besides keeping them off the “worst dressed” pages of any magazine—is to make their clients bodies look even better than they already do. For years, stylists have relied on a mirage of tips and tricks including duct tape, nipple covers, sewing stars into their clothes—the list goes on and on.

For celebrity stylist Monica Rose, who’s most famous for dressing all of the Kardashians and Jenners, as well as Gigi Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Chrissy Teigen and Chanel Iman, there’s one item that she keeps in her kit at all times. Consider shapewear her saving grace.

Known for dressing celebrities in neutral monochromatic color palettes, long flowing robes, super tight body con dresses and sheer pieces, Rose tends to pair pieces together that create the illusion of the body being naked—even though it’s not—which calls for shapewear, no matter who you are or what you’re wearing.

Because all of her girls have to-die-for bodies, Rose says she uses a lot of Spanx, her go-to brand, to make everything look even that much better. Her favorites: the high-waisted styles that go down to the calf, which she says don’t leave visible lines. She also uses BodyWrap, too, which she claims makes the butt look better.

Thanks to this easy-to-do tip, you just got one step closer to having a body that looks like it belongs to a celebrity.
