As you may have seen circulating your For You Page this past May, food blogger Lovely Delites went viral on TikTok for posting the salad Jennifer Aniston supposedly ate every day on the set of Friends. The video amassed over 50 thousand likes and had fans everywhere running to the store for chickpeas and feta.

Despite the video’s massive following, Aniston let the public know in an interview with Elle that the viral salad is unfortunately not the salad she ate every day while shooting the beloved ’90s sitcom. The salad posted by Lovely Delites was an elevated version of a Cobb salad filled with cucumbers, red onion, feta cheese, mint, parsley and an entire can of chickpeas.

When asked about the salad in her sit down with Elle, she explains that she felt bad debunking the rumors since the salad had gained so much popularity. “It looks like a delicious salad, by the way” she says, “but that’s not the one I had on Friends.”

The question that remains, then, is would the star be willing to try the trending dish? For Aniston the answer, sadly, is no as she “would never have that much chickpea in a salad, to be honest. Not good for the digestive tract.” The popular legumes are rich in complex sugars and oligosaccharides which make them tough on the digestive system.

We can always count on Jennifer Aniston to be honest about all things health and wellness, and this viral salad sensation is just one reason why you should always check your sources before you indulge. The proof is in the pudding…or the salad.
