If you’re a celebrity, launching a beauty brand has pretty much become a rite of passage at this point. Now that models, actresses and singers like Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez and Rihanna have all developed their own wildly successful brands in the space in recent years, the list of celebrities-turned-beauty founders is only getting longer. The latest addition? Former Victoria’s Secret angel Jasmine Tookes, who just announced her plans to launch a body care brand called Brunel.
Tookes made the big announcement on May 9. Per WWD, Brunel will launch on May 15, and it’s set to feature a lineup of fragrances, wellness products and skin-care formulas all designed for use on the body. “It’s been a dream of mine to start this brand forever,” the model told WWD. “I always wanted to make sure there was a purpose for bringing a beauty brand into the world, and we’ve found this incredible white space—now is the right time.”
Brunel will launch with a trio of scented body oils: the Awakening Body Oil ($48), which smells like amber and magnolia, the Renewal Body Oil ($48), which is lavender-scented as a way to calm the senses and the Golden Hour Glow Oil ($53), which includes a light shimmer and a jasmine and sandalwood scent. They’re all made with a blend of oils—safflower, castor, coconut and jojoba—as well as vitamins C and E to address uneven skin tone and dryness, respectively.
“Brunel is about fusing scientific advances with tradition and the deep history of body care and oils,” Tookes’ business partner Sabrina Castenfelt said. “Historically, there’s been kind of a separation in body care where it’s either science driven, or it’s fragranced but without skin-care actives—offering a mix of both was an important factor for us.”
So far, the body oils, which Tookes test drove during her appearance at Monday night’s Met Gala, are the only products from Brunel to have been announced, though we’re obviously keeping our eyes peeled for more.
