Blondes have more flexibility in terms of different shades when it comes to highlights, because the colors blend more seamlessly. Not all highlights need to use bleach or blonde colors either-your colorist can use any color that blends in with your hair, including dark shades.
Katherine Heigl has sported a few different hair colors during the past few years. Frank Frisicioni (of FrankCassi Salon in Palm Beach and Oscar Blandi Salon in NYC) was responsible for toning-down Katherine’s locks for her role in “27 Dresses.” It’s been a few years since Heigl’s role as the repeat bridesmaid and now she’s currently shooting a new wedding-themed move, “The Big Wedding.” And guess who she called to help color her strands for the role? That’s right; Heigl went straight to Frisicioni.
On set in Connecticut, Frisicioni used foils and his balayage technique to turn Heigl’s bright blonde locks to a more caramel-colored blonde. By adding darker highlights, Frisicioni achieved a more pronounced effect. We can’t wait to see her (and the movie).
