This week marks the debut of a new FDA-approved device that cuts down the pain from cosmetic injectables like Botox and other dermal fillers. The Ouchless Needle collection (three models are available to accommodate different syringes) not only reduces the pain associated with receiving injections, but also minimizes post-injection numbness as well as swelling and bruising.
What exactly is it? Ouchles Needle is a disposable syringe-attachable dispenser that delivers an instant topical refrigerant to the skin just prior to needle insertion. How does it work? Developed by a plastic surgeon (for his patients),The Ouchless Needle delivers a short spray of FDA-compliant vapocoolant onto the skin before the skin is pierced. This spray instantly cools the skin, reducing the feeling of needle penetration, making the injection more tolerable.
Over the past ten years, the popularity of minimally invasive cosmetic procedures has been growing steadily-despite the ouch factor. We’re interested to see if these numbers get even higher now that less pain can be involved. What do you think of this new alternative to numbing cream?
