Nicky Kinnaird, 49
Founder and President of Space.NK

There’s a Space.NK boutique on almost every corner in the UK—London’s Covent Garden was the first one, and since then founder Nicky Kinnaird has added 86 more to her dossier, expanding to the U.S. too. “Space.NK came out of a lifelong passion for beauty.” Kinnaird has her finger on the pulse of cutting-edge beauty so it’s no surprise that she cherry-picks from only the best to stockpile her stores.

My Beauty Philosophy
“I’m a big believer in working from the inside out. I diet, exercise and take supplements to keep my body and skin healthy. And, of course, I use a good amount of topical products, too. I’m not about invasive approaches. I don’t do injectables either—I’m scared of needles! My overall approach is more of the European way, simple and natural.”

What’s On My Anti-Aging Radar
“I’m very aware of sun damage. And since I spend time outside I always want to protect myself with sunscreen and antioxidants. I also like my skin to look moist, so staying hydrated is a must. I’m really into essential fatty acids and Ascenta Skin oil is one product that makes a big difference in my skin. Oils are gaining traction but the next wave of supplements is what I really have my eyes on.”

Beauty Biz Game Changers
“There have been so many game changers since I started in the business. Makeup and color continue to evolve and grow by leaps and bounds. Private lines from dermatologists and plastic surgeons are a major advancement as they are geared toward problems of concern. The Clarisonic was also a revolutionary product in both the professional and consumer arena and has substantially changed the way women cleanse their skin. Hair care is big—women are as conscious of taking care of their hair today as they are their skin. It’s all about products that cater to the needs of today’s woman.”

What Women Want
“Healthy-looking skin is at the top of most women’s want list. Women are becoming more focused on the body and taking care of it year-round. There’s also such a trend on nails now since women see them as a fashion accessory.”

Expert Go-Tos
“I like facials and no one gives a facial like Joanna Vargas in New York. I always finish off my treatment in her LED bed. I also love Georgia Louise for facial massage and lymphatic drainage. For haircuts, I see Serge Normant in New York and Oribe in Miami.”
