Fashion is extremely important to me, so the fact that I’m willing to wear a certain odd-looking sneaker as often as I do is saying a lot for that sneaker. I’m talking about the MBT (Masai Barefoot Technology) sneaker, which has a glowing reputation due to its ability to tone muscles, improve balance and posture, and even help with cellulite and varicose veins. But my MBT experience isn’t the typical MBT experience.
The last year of the five I spent in New York City was filled with chronic pain due to the flare-up of a rheumatic condition I’ve had for eight years. I was doing no exercise because of the pain. But living in Manhattan, I couldn’t avoid walking. I decided to make the most out of it by getting the MBT sneaker (specifically the baby-blue ones created especially for Bliss).
Amazingly, just wearing the MBT sneaker whenever I had to walk anywhere-taking my dog to the dog park, going shopping in the neighborhood, etc.-improved the muscle tone in my legs significantly compared to wearing any other kind of shoe. Now that I’m past my flare-up and living in Florida, I’m going to put the MBT sneaker to its full use and see if I can reap its full potential. And with the results I got from minimal use, I have a lot of confidence it’ll perform as promised.
