I Revamped the Way I Eat featured image

In her mid-40s, business owner Bliss’s energy levels were shot. She always felt like she needed a nap toward the later part of the day. Bliss was constantly bloated and didn’t feel nearly as fit as she should be. She knew that she needed to concentrate on her overall health and wanted to feel and look as good as possible before she approached 50. Celebrity trainer Kathy Kaehler helped Bliss establish a new routine and make it stick.

The First Steps
Bliss: Kathy got me started on her Sunday Set-Up Club program, a system that teaches you to purchase your ingredients and foods at once, but to pack them in the fridge in an organized fashion. It’s easy to follow and it keeps your meals organized for an entire week. She’s an amazing cook and her recipes, like her cauliflower, which has become my new favorite vegetable and meal, are high in protein and are delicious. I also started with the Usana Reset program, to jump-start my weight loss and get me on a healthier track.
Kathy: We bumped up the amount of veggies in her Sunday Set-Up Club so that she could always grab something—either raw or quickly roasted—to go with her meals.

The Exercise Element
Bliss: Working out on a regular basis was a huge part of transforming my body. I began running three times a week, biking, playing tennis and taking Kathy’s step classes.
Kathy: My step class consists of 40 minutes of cardio followed by exercises that target the legs, arms and abs. Our goal is to have her complete my new intense bike ride, which is all uphill.

New Look Maintenance
Kathy: Bliss needed to tweak her diet and workout routine. Sometimes it takes just a little fine-tuning to get good results.
Bliss: Today, I crave protein and veggies as opposed to carbs and chips. I’m also diligent about my exercise because I make workout appointments and keep them a priority. I exercise first thing in the morning so that I start my day fresh and without distractions. Since changing my eating habits and following the program, I’m happier with my body. Now, I don’t crave sugar or salt nearly as much—the amount of water I retain has reduced too!
