Rodrigo Alves, aka the “Human Ken Doll,” underwent another treatment this week, this time in the form of a smile makeover.
According to DailyMail, who Alves spoke to exclusively, the 33-year-old got porcelain veneers in Iran after his teeth were chipped during this tenth nose job—two days after he filmed himself “getting eyes like a cat.”

While Alves isn’t really about a “natural” look (his website describes him as being “known worldwide for his courage in reinventing himself with the help of plastic surgery”), his new veneers do have some people going a bit “comment crazy.”
“We as professionals do not like to comment on other dentists work, especially with no history on the patient’s dental work and history,” says New York cosmetic dentist Zachary Linhart, DDS. “However, I can say that, at our practice, we strive to create natural, beautiful and healthy smiles. From the look of these ‘veneers,’ I am not convinced that the doctor who placed them has the same philosophy we do.”
Alves seems thrilled with the results, posting on social media that he “is so happy he can’t keep his new teeth inside his mouth” and that his new smile is “white and pristine.”
“I personally think that cosmetic dentistry should result in a happy, satisfied patient,” says New York cosmetic dentist Nargiz Schmidt, DDS. “Sometimes the patient’s aesthetic preferences differ from those of his or her doctor, but if a patient’s health is not compromised in any way, the shape and shade of veneers could and should be chosen by the patient. At the end of the day, he is the one looking at his reflection every day.”
