Spring Hair Tutorial: Zoe Saldana’s Wavy Textured Updo

Step 1

Create a natural center part in your hair using your fingers. Mist CHI 44 Iron Guard Style & Stay ($16) and curl hair in 0.5-inch sections using CHI ARC 1” Ceramic Curler ($90).

Step 2

Once your entire head is curled, dispense a few drops of CHI Silk Infusion ($26) onto your palms and run it through your hair to break up the curls, applying only from midshaft to ends.

Step 3

Divide your hair into three vertical sections. Pin outside sections away for later.

Step 4

In the center section, twist hair and push it up to create volume. Pin the section into place.

Step 5

Using one of the side sections, create a loose ponytail with an elastic band. Loop hair through the band creating a tousled bun and pin it in place, leaving a few pieces out. 

Step 6

Repeat Step 5 using the opposite section.

Step 7

Loosely pin the hanging hair in the center section up toward the nape area to add fullness to the textured updo. Release a few strands around the front hairline to accent the look.

Step 8

Mist hair with CHI Shine Infusion ($15) for added polish to finish the undone style.
